20111006-000906.jpgToday the world mourns the loss of Steve Jobs, Apple, Inc. co-founder, at the young age of 56. In recent years Steve had highly public battles with a rare form of pancreatic cancer and a liver transplant back in 2009. He recently stepped down as CEO at Apple. Apple quietly released brief information regarding his passing yesterday.

Most people will know him as the guy that brought us the Macintosh computer, the iPad and iPhone but he was so much more. He was a true visionary and entrepreneur. His name is on hundreds of patents, he turned Pixar into the mega-animation studio it is today which in turn made him Disney’s largest shareholder. He led Apple to become one of the most valuable companies in the world and truly brought change to the world.

I won’t be able to do his biography true justice so you may want to read this article at the Washington Post or search for others on the inter-webs. I will personally miss him and his true visionary genius. The world will certainly move on but let us pause to remember the man and the impact he brought to the world.

Please watch this very inspiring speech by Steve at the 2005 Stanford commencement.
